Spies is the same game as Mafia and Wolves, but it uses it's own terminology. Here are the definitions:
MAIN
Spy (aka Wolf, scum, Mafia): A Spy is the Enemy. They work undercover to eliminate all non-Spies via deception and Imprisonment. Once they are the only ones left standing they win the game.
Imprison (aka night kill, kill by wolves, shot by mafia): To be eliminated from the game by a Spy. A Spy will plant subversive evidence or frame a Citizen of a terrible crime or terrorist act. That Citizen will instantly be arrested and taken away for the group to be locked up in a secret prison, never to be seen again.
Citizen (aka townies, humans, innocents): A Citizen is a normal player of the game without any special designation. A Citizens job is to stay in the game and eliminate all Spies. A Citizen wins when all Spies have been Exiled.
Exiled (aka ;ynched, hung, killed by players): A player is Exiled when they are voted out by the group under suspicion of being a Spy at a live Exiling. They are instantly eliminated from the game and their true Identity is revealed.
SECONDARY
Role - A role is a special ability or power granted to a player. Both Citizens and Spies may have roles. When I say role I mean this special power granted to a player. When I say Identity I mean: is that person a Spy or a Citizen?
Identity - Your Identity is whether you are a Citizen or a Spy. Either may have a special Role.
Counteragent (aka Cop, Sheriff, Seer) - The Counteragent is a Citizen that can discover the Identity of any individual. On the night of the Imprisonment, the Counteragent selects one person that they want to know is either a Citizen or a Spy. If that person survives the Imprisonment, their identity will be revealed to the Counteragent unless it is blocked by another character.
Psychic - The Psychic receives information on the chosen target for Imprisonment hours before it is to take place. If they so choose, they may decide to save that person from Imprisonment - resulting in no one being Imprisoned for that episode. They then lose their powers and return to a normal Citizen.
Tiebreaker - If a vote ties at Exile, first everyone who is at the live Exile will revote for one of the tied players. Previously made votes for that Exile will be counted if that player is absent. If this revote ties, the Tiebreaker makes the sole decision between tied players on who is Exiled.
Please note that other special powers that are not announced may be assigned in the game.
Alias - Your alias is your real life name and personality. This should not be a factor in the game.
Judge Sam (aka the Mayor, host): Judge Sam is the host of the game, me.
Spies 1: The Infiltration: The first in a series of Spies games, this game introduces the Spy theme with generic Spies / Citizens / Government theme. It had 18 players, 3 Spies, 2 Counteragents, and a Psychic.
Spies 2: The Recruitment: The second game in the Spies series. In Spies 2, two players were Recruited over the course of the game from a Citizen to a Spy, bringing a total of 3 Spies. One was Recruited by a random lottery at Exile #1 and one was Recruited by the Spies choice in Episode 3. It had 21 players, 3 Spies, a Card Reader, a Gambler, a Ballot Stuffer, and a Psychic.
Spies 3: The Collective: The third game of Spies. 15 players began the game but 11 Intruders joined them after two episodes live in a surprise reveal. It featured 2 challenges, a Costume Party, an Awards Ceremony, Double Exiles, and much more. 5 Spies attempted to defeat the 21 Citizens. The Citizens had the help of a Builder, a Gift Giver, a Decision Maker, Do or Die, and an Inheritor.
Spies 4: The Schism: The fourth entry in the Spies series. What new twists and turns are in store for the new players?
Saved - If someone has been awarded the status "Saved," then this is what will happen: if they are selected by the Spies to be Imprisoned, then instead no one will be Imprisoned for that episode. For example, a Psychic saves a person.
Immune from Imprisonment - If someone has been awarded the status "Immune from Imprisonment," then this is what will happen: the Spies are not allowed to select that person for Imprisonment. They must select another person to be Imprisoned.
