spies4Leon: wait Sam, i have a quick question spies4Leon: when someone's Imprisoned, are they killed? Sorin the Seeker: metaphorically =) spies4Leon: just curious, cause Gordy was hit over the head with a hard object, hard enough for him to bloody his shirt, but he came back 2 rounds later spies4Leon: it would have to be a big blood puddle for it to get from his head to his shirt...
There is no way this isn't spies3Matthew. I've made a big point of never guessing what Sam would do in terms of casting, but I'm sorry - there's no way he casted spies3Matthew as a spy. Not in this game.
Little reminders:

I loved tonight's imprisonment thread, Sam. That's probably the best idea for an imprisonment thread you've had so far, and I've loved many (rock-paper-scissors in Spies 2 round 8, Adriana's save by the psychic in Spies 2 round 3, Choose your own adventure in Spies 4 round X, etc.) I laughed and I almost cried. Great idea.
This exile is heading in Hannah's direction and that thrills me. Most of my arguments are based on the idea that Hannah is a weak spy. Tyson and most of the Spies 3 Spies could never have been traced so easily. Seriously. But I feel like Hannah and Faizah and Angelica played a very predictable, straight-forward game, and they weren't caught for a while just because we had more Traditionalist leads to deal with.
1) She was big in defending Faizah in the earlier episodes when I accused Faizah
2) She and Faizah both leeched onto Candy
3) She couldn't bring herself to vote Faizah, just as Faizah couldn't bring herself to vote Angelica
4) We only know she's not a Traditionalist spy, not an Orthodoxy (though that should be obvious at this point)
5) She was agitated with Adelaide, and the Orthodoxy imprisoned Adelaide
6) She was saved by Faizah and Angelica in episode 2
7) Faizah and Angelica strongly defended her throughout the game
8) Her posts lack substance
9) Faizah didn't list her in her top 3 suspects, and Hannah didn't list Faizah in her top 3 suspects
10) Mistaki and Faizah were named most often on the "Who do you suspect?" list and we were right on them. Hannah was #3. Go with the flow.
11) She had no connection to Bunni - voted her guilty - so she would have been all right with Bunni's imprisonment. Singe's as well.
I'm secure with my vote for Hannah and I hope nothing major changes.

There should be a prize for best exile case made by a citizen against another citizen. I'm fairly sure my case against Judith in Spies 3 would still take the prize, but goddamn if this one doesn't come close...

I'm shocked we were all so wrong on Hannah. Everything at that point in time just fit so good on Hannah being a Spy.

I'm kinda disappointed in myself that I went along with it so easily. I shouldn't have tried to find an ally in Leon, and instead of should have run around screaming his name like I did with Mistaki. It could have truly bought me another week...
But at that point I was really grabbing at straws. I already knew I had Kip and Damon against me the following week.

SUCCESS! Another Spy down and one to go. And the list is completely narrowed. I think we're on the right track in going after Leon. There's enough evidence in the thread to convince me if I wasn't already thinking it since the Masaki vote. Although I may return to that vote and look at it a little more closely. IT would've made sense of Masaki to axe Leon and look better since he already was in tight with Singe, Kip and myself. It's a WIFOM possibility but it shouldn't go ignored. Faizah went, and she was an Orthodoxy. What'd I say? So far I'm 2 for 2 on my Spies. First Masaki, and now Faizah. Next Hannah. The way I see it, this game is over. Zander, Candy, Singe and Damon are all Citizens. That's 5 of the 8 remaining players. Leaving Leon, Hannah, and Summer. Summer is basically a Citizen, I just can't place her, and I need a third in case Hannah and Leon are wrong. That being said, I'm 100% sure it's one of Leon or Hannah, and I'm 85% sure it's Hannah. This next vote will probably be split between then though... Let's just hope I survive Imprisonment. I really, really want to win.

Yes but it wasn't that cut and dry. Look how quickly they turned on a dime against me within the same week.

Yeah, there was a lot more to it that, "Hrm, maybe Zander is the Spy." After Hannah was shown to be a Citizen, something went off in my head, and I was like "It has to be Zander, but I don't know why exactly yet." You'll notice in the final conversation on this Episode I even told Candy that. I also told Summer that, but I either didn't post that conversation, or it's in the next Episode. After the next couple days following Hannah, when Summer, Candy, and I really looked at Zander, everything just fit into place.

Sometimes it's easier to see what's really the case when there's a massive obstruction* that's suddenly removed. It clears your vision and your preconceptions and you start in a "new" frame of mind.
Also, suspicions do change on a dime given the right prompting, as Zander and Kip are basically saying. It happens to me all the time. Look at Gigi in Spies 1 - I went from having her pretty low down on my suspect list to putting her at the absolute top of it in the space of about half an hour. Same thing with Faizah - all it took was a few odd exile votes and I became convinced she was a spy. I expect most active citizens have had that happen to them at some stage.
*Not referring in any way to Pudgette's weight there. Not in the slightest. Nope. No way.

Yeah, that's basically what happened to me. If you read my confessional, it has a couple posts where I was back and forth on it being Leon or Hannah. In fact, at that point I had Zander on my Citizen list. After Hannah went, something snapped in my head. I remembered Gordy saying something about Zander when he came back, and how Zander reacted when he entered the chat, and a few others things, that my gut was like "it's totally Zander, I just can't pin him yet."
Speaking of Leon though, there was a 12 hour period in this episode that I was sure it was Leon. If Zander would have came to me and pushed his Leon suspicions to me, I may have ultimately voted Leon, then I'd be sure to vote Hannah in the next round. I changed to Leon for he same reason I changed back to Hannah. No one really had any suspicion on him that there were stating, and partly because I wanted to be 3 for 3 in my Spy suspicions I posted the week prior.

I didn't have that "a-ha" moment in this game because it was basically process of elimination for me.
- Faizah and Kip each voted for the other twice, and Faizah almost exiled Kip, so it wasn't Kip.
- Angelica encouraged Gordy to save his ass by voting for Damon, and singled Damon out for inactivity, so it wasn't Damon
- And as much as I hate saying this, there was no way Sam was making spies3Matthew a Spy in this game. Not after the extreme idiocy he showed last time. So it wasn't Leon.
Then Candy filled in the pieces for why it WAS Zander and I felt sure in my vote.

Yeah, process of elimination helped clear Damon and Summer (for the most part) for me. I still could have seen Leon as a Spy though, but not likely. I didn't know he was Spies3Matthew either for that matter, but I try and take "how would Sam do it" out of my thought process. After playing so many of his games, you tend to realize that basing your decisions on what you think Sam would do is not always the best course of action.
He even wonders himself why people read so much into what he says at Exile and Tribal Councils and stuff.

With all that said, I like to think I did a pretty good job with everything I was given. A lot of the times you notice that there's a spy that gets away just because people aren't willing to look at everyone in the same light - it's a really large citizen flaw. People pick one or two suspects and drill it home and usually are wrong. When you're finally exiling your 14th placed spy suspect, you finally get a hint . I wanted to come into this being a perfect blend of somebody that nobody needed investigated and yet nobody really found suspicious, and I don't quite know how I did it but I pulled it off without getting votes for a crazy long time, and I think part of it has to do with everyone having their own little pecking order. When you look at it, what I did after Hannah left was no more suspicious (definitely not) than what I had done the rest of the game - most of the damning evidence from me was from the first three episodes. But because nobody ever felt like looking more in depth at that in comparison to what else was going on, I slid by. Not that I wasn't prepared to try to change your minds if it came up;)

Zander, you played amazingly. Going out as the final Spy in the Final Five is not something to be ashamed of. You did very good.
Obviously after the game ends, you'll see all the things you could've done to possibly get a new outcome for the end game, but hide sight is 20-20.

That was one of my biggest pet peeves after the game (and I'm sure is many Spies' pet peeve as well), people who are constantly like "You should have done this. I would have done this. This was the better move." There's a lot as a spy that you don't always know (and for good reason), so sometimes you have to make the best decision with the information you have. Your moves aren't always perfect but they're your mistakes to make and while they can fall under some criticism, sometimes it's just annoying to hear other people go "You definitely shouldn't have done this!" Clearly I already regret not doing something, and regretted it weeks ago while the game was still on - otherwise I wouldn't have been eliminated Just food for thought but I'm sure a lot of former Spies (Minus the Spies from Spies 3 who were perfect), and maybe even some other citizens don't mind being told other thoughts but get annoyed with the overwhelming chorus of "You shoulda, you shoulda, you shoulda" On a side note, thanks Matt

That first post cracks me up, haha. And at least Leon wasnt THAT bad. But was that really how you figured out I was Matthew? From that one question?? It wasnt even that bad.. (And you did do great Zander) *After reading that, I never realized I told you to shut up Sam, so I apologize for that

Zander, pretty much everyone thinks you played a great game. All along I thought you were a great citizen but potentially a super-dangerous spy. If we make comments about how things might have gone differently, it's just armchair quarterbacking, cause we have the benefit of hindsight.

Scott, I knew for a good while that you were spies3Matthew. I mentioned it in my confessional last round as well. While you may have kept your immature outbursts to a minimum this game, you still had many Matthew moments as Leon.
As for guessing who Sam casts, as I've stated twice in this thread and many, many times during the game itself, it's a method that shouldn't be used. However, I knew without a doubt that Sam wouldn't cast Matthew as a Spy directly after Spies 3, simply because Scott showed that game that he would be a bigger disaster than spies1Mercedes (who I adore as a person).
