IMPRISONMENT XII Judge Sam: “The game is coming to a close. At this point it might seem that the endgame is set in stone. You’ve spent over 50 days with each other in constant communication. If you haven’t figured out who is a Spy and who is a Citizen by now, it may seem like you will never decide.
But with each vote and each Imprisonment brings new evidence that can narrow down the choices. And with only 4 suspects left after tonight’s Imprisonment, you can’t narrow it too much further. Before we get to that I would like to congratulate everybody on making it this far. You all have survived 23 separate eliminations – more than any other Spies player in history. That’s an incredible feat.
I also would like to congratulate Zander on not receiving a single vote against him in the last 13 Exiles! That’s mind blowing that someone could come so far without a single vote against them. Zander is the only one left in the game to accomplish this. For the record, here are the number of votes the rest of you have accumulated up to this point: Kip – 14, Leon – 9, Candy – 6, Summer – 3, Damon – 1.
I have more congratulations in order. There have been 5 Spies Exiled so far. Congratulations to Damon for voting for every single one of them in the Exile they went! That’s no easy task, especially with some close votes. For the record, the rest of you had voted for all the Spies save one when they were Exiled. This does not count Exiles in which you were in a family with them at the time of the vote and it only counts if you voted for that Spy in the Exile they left. However, to be fair, in those votes where you didn’t vote for the Spy that left, you may have voted for another Spy.
Enough stats, time for Imprisonment XII!” SAFE: VULNERABLE:

That time was a long time ago. A time where you had to hand out 25 flyers to your Haunted House just to get 7 people to show up. A time where a group of 6 people had to meet in secret to keep their activities a secret from the rest of the Burg. A time where a dinner party with 6 people wasn’t an invitation to everybody in the town.
That was a long time ago, and nobody missed the hustle and bustle of the old Burg as much as Summer did. Summer was a big city girl and loved to do activities that involved large numbers of people, whether it was partying, or going to dances, or playing large games of tag in the forest. Now if Summer wanted to go somewhere to talk she could count the number of options on one hand.
Summer desperately wanted someone new to talk to. Someone who wasn’t involved in all this Spy / treachery / lying junk. Sighing, she opened the window, looking for the cat. SAFE: VULNERABLE:

In contradiction to her big-city life style, Summer also loved to read. She couldn’t imagine what it was like back before the days of readily available books and the printing press. What did people do all day without books to entertain them? She couldn’t imagine a life without them. It’d be so boring.
Just as Summer went over to select a book from the bookshelf, she heard a knock at the door. Letting out a deeper sigh, she meandered over to the door.
“Damon.” Summer muttered dryly.
“Hi Summer!” Damon responded cheerfully, inviting himself into the Inn. “It’s good to see you again! Isn’t today just the most beautiful day? The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, I swear I saw a squirrel outside my window this morning, cutest little thing, looked at me like it was caught with it’s paw in the honey jar when I spied it then it dropped the acorn it was holding and sped off up this tree where I saw a bunch of other squirrels…”
“That’s amazing.” Summer said emotionlessly, clearly thinking the opposite. Before Damon could start up again, Summer said: “Why don’t we each take a book here and read together. In silence. It could be like our own little book club.”

“Well, Summer,” Damon said. “That whole ‘book club’ plan does sound more thrilling than licking a thousand envelopes, which is what I did yesterday, but I think I’m going to have to pass.”
Damon picked up a book from the bookshelf. The remaining books slouched against each other, barely staying upright. Not even pretending to read it, he flipped through the pages quickly and threw the book back on the shelf. “Yeah, that was boring. I came over today because we are going to bake an amazing cake together!”
Damon strolled into the kitchen of the Inn, randomly opening every drawer in sight. Damon yanked out spoons, spatulas, pots, pans, cups, bowls, and everything else he could find in the drawers. After leaving all of these items on the countertops, he attacked the larder. But before Damon could pull out the entire cabinet, there was another knock on the door.
“Hope you didn’t mind that I invited a friend!” Damon said.
Candy walked through the open door. “I can’t wait to get started on the pie!”
“Cake.”
Candy and Damon began baking the cake as Summer watched. Look at those two, cooking a cake like it’s their own little club. My book club is better, Summer thought. Maybe I should invite someone else to my new book club. That’d show them.
But Summer felt too listless to show Candy and Damon up by starting a more popular club. Instead she satiated her desire by staring at the flickering flame of the oven, secretly willing it would jump and catch their fingertips, making them yelp like baby puppies.
Summer was bored watching them cook, so she went to the other room to find the cat or a book.
Candy grabbed a pan from the drawer and set it down. When the cake was almost finished, Candy realized she didn’t actually need the pan, so she placed it hanging from the tip of the handle on the wall.

Summer didn’t find the cat, but she grabbed a romantic novel and started to read.
The sun began to set, and Damon and Candy were still working on their cake. Night was coming and it was getting dark. But Summer just couldn’t stop reading while Anastasia and Evan were still fighting over the missing engagement ring! She wanted to continue reading the romantic tale so she lit a candle and placed it on the table beside her. Soon the words began to blur and she rested her head on her shoulder, and fell asleep.
This is how the fire started that lead to the person being Imprisoned:
A fierce gust of wind came in through the window that Summer had opened and forgot to close.
The gust of wind sent the pan that Candy had precariously hung on the wall flying off the peg and crashing to the ground.
The ear-splitting CLANG of the pan hitting the ground spooked the cat that had been hiding behind the dresser.
The cat jumped forward in fright and onto the shelf, knocking the books that Damon had left unstable over like dominoes.
The final book fell off the shelf and into the table holding the candle that Summer had lit.
The candle set the carpet on fire. SAFE: VULNERABLE:

Summer was dreaming of noblemen and princesses when the stench of smoke and heat of the fire struck her face. Candy and Damon had picked her up and hauled her to the second floor. The candle had lit the Inn in flames, spreading quickly through the old building. It had blocked off the front entrance so the three were forced to find another exit.
“WE FORGOT THE CAKE!” Damon shrieked as he dropped Summer’s feet to the ground with a jolting thud and started heading back towards the first floor.
“Oh no you don’t!” Candy yelled, letting go of Summer’s arms and dropping her head to the ground with an equally shocking thud. Candy ran towards Damon to bring him back. But Damon couldn’t have gotten the cake even if he wanted to – the flames had crept up towards the stairs.
Damon and Candy took a few steps back, fazed by the overwhelming heat and stunned by the crackling flames. Summer tried to open the door on the second floor but the doorknob was too hot. Gathering the two, she led them up to the third floor and into the attic. She opened the window, stuck her head out, and yelled for help.
Luckily help was already on its way. It was hard to miss a burning three-story building. Within just a minute of Summer’s yell the firefighters arrived on the scene to see Candy, Damon, and Summer’s head stuck out the window, gasping for air.
The firetruck rolled up to the side of the Inn. On the top of the truck was a giant retractable ladder and a fireman waiting to rescue them. The fireman, dressed in full firefighter’s gear from head to toe, set up the ladder to the third floor and started climbing up it. SAFE: VULNERABLE:

The fireman picked up the victim and carried them down the ladder and into the fire truck.
Removing his mask, the firemen smiled a fiendish smile. The victim now realized that the danger they were in was just the tip of the iceberg.
The fireman knocks you out, throws you in the back of the fire truck, and gallops off into the night!

Candy has been kidnapped and Imprisoned by the Spies.
You will never see them again. Candy : please post Final Words in your confessional immediately. Judge Sam: “And so marks the end of an era. I don’t think there’s ever been a character like you in the game Candy. Like no other player I’ve ever seen in Spies you commanded attention, you spoke your mind bluntly and passionately, you played front and center for weeks and survived, you made smart decisions and unfortunate errors, you did everything up down east west and in between – and you did it powerfully. With presence. You divided the Burg between those that loved talking to you everyday and those who the name ‘candy’ sent bile rising in their mouth. You made an impact everywhere in every episode, and that’s something very few people can claim. It’s hard to be sad though when you realize that you’ve spent 53 amazing days in the game, nearly 1.5 times as much as any other previous player. Your time could have been cut short early but you persevered and made it much, much, much farther than you ever expected. That is an amazing feat. Although your game ended before the final Spy was caught or the Spy wins the game for their team, there is still very little, in my opinion, to be sad about. Thank you for playing non-stop the entire game. Reading your in-depth, unique, and clever confessionals was one of my favorite things to check when I woke up in the morning and checked the website. You never once complained and were very appreciative. Reading your conversations was illuminating and hilarious. You kicked ass in every challenge – from the tasks one to the mole game. You have created so many different memories in this game for yourself, for others, and for me, I can't even begin to list them all here. Watching you play the game was a pleasure, one I hope the other players will experience as episodes are released. Surely everyone will be interested in finding out what lay behind that powerful character. I look forward as well to continue talking with you.” Candy was a Citizen. Judge Sam: “Another tough loss to add to the pile. There isn’t much but to go on from here. Five villagers, four Citizens, three eliminations, two exiles, and one Spy. It’s time to make a decision and cast your die.” Exile XII / Possible Finale #2 will take place live in chat at 9:00 PM CST Monday. With five voters, three votes is a majority. I’ll see you there.
