While I am usually against blaming one person, I'm gonna have to agree, since he is pretty much responsible for for killing off the person who had the two maf from day 1.

I trusted kerry 100%, and knew that if I told Kerry, Ralph would get the info regardless of whether or not i told him. That and I was very convinced you were a spy, and would target someone who would "be targetted with a fatal amount of spy hurts" covering up for a lack of vig kills. Of course that didn't turn out to be right.

CITIZEN (Adelaide, Hannah) You are a Citizen. Your task is to eliminate all the Spies by making their life points hit zero.
You currently have three lives.
VIGILANTE (Zander) You are a Citizen. You win if you eliminate all the Spies.
You have a special ability. You are the VIGILANTE. Feeling that you have to take matters into your own hands, you hide in the shadows and attempt to aid your fellow Citizens.
Every night you will get to choose a player who will lose a life. Your choice will be announced along with the Spies' choices. The existence of your role will be announced after the first night.
Ex, I will publicly say: Spies Kill A. Vigilante Killed C.
You cannot hurt yourself. This restriction is not revealed to anybody.
You currently have three lives.
NOTE: Players are eliminated when their lives reach zero.

DECISION MAKER (Kip, passed to Singe) You are a Citizen. You win if you eliminate all the Spies.
You have received a special ability. You are now the DECISION MAKER. You will cast a bonus ANONYMOUS vote when there is a tie.
Due to the circumstances of this game, your powers will not take effect until we get to One-kill-per-day. You will be reminded when this role can break ties.
However, since this role is critical for the end of the game, you must select a person to inherit this role in the unfortunate chance that you are eliminated. You can change your choice anytime, before your elimination is publicly announced. (i.e. before day voting deadline, before night kills are announced)
If you choose, you can message me anytime and give away this role to another person, even if you are not yet eliminated.
If you received this role via gift/inheritance, you cannot give it back to the person who gave it to you.
You currently have three lives.
You are eliminated if your lives hit zero.
=======================================
You received this role from Kip. At this point in the game, you may now break ties. If two people has the same number of votes, you can distribute between the players who received the highest amount of votes the two kills that the Citizens have.
Later on, I added to option of splitting the votes between the tied people, if that is what the Decision Maker wanted.
SUICIDER (Abrams, replaced by Kerry) You are a Citizen. You win if you eliminate all the Spies.
You have a special ability, you are a SUICIDER. Growing up with thieves, you always thought that best way to avenge any mistake is by getting even. And with the recent death of your father on the hands of the Spies, the thirst for revenge fires your passion to catch the Spies.
You are required to select TWO different people -- each will lose one life -- in the event you are eliminated. You can change your choices anytime, before your elimination is publicly announced (i.e. before day voting deadline, before night kills are announced).
You also win if your power takes out the final Mafia on the day/night you are killed.
This power will weaken if used in the Final 5, onwards(One person will be hit instead of two).
You currently have three lives.
NOTE: Players are eliminated when their lives reach zero.

SPY (Ralph and Singe) You are a Spy. Your sole purpose is to sow distrust among all the other Citizens.
You win if you physically outnumber the Citizens. (Even if you Spies have collectively a higher life total than Citizens, you don't win.).
Your spy-partner is: Ralph
Beware, some Citizens have been alerted of your presence and have taken special measures to ensure that you are brought to justice. (Subtext: Citizen Roles exist.)
However, the International Spy Association has sent you additional resources to help you on your evil mission.
THIS GAME WILL START AT NIGHT. YOU MUST SELECT THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE TO LOSE ONE LIFE EACH. You may select yourselves. One of you should PM me your choices before Feb 2, 2008 8:00 pm CST.
You currently have three lives.
NOTE: Players are eliminated when their lives reach zero.CUPID (Given to Masaki on February 14) Valentine's Day (AKA Single's Awareness Day) has dawned upon the town and again the whole town is scrambling to prepare for their next date, or to find one before the day ends. Of course, with the threat of the Spies, you don't really care.
You hear a rap on the door.
Surprised, yet wary, you quickly run to see who was outside only to see a package. Inside are two bottles and a note. You read:
"Anyone who drinks these will find true love eternally."
Skeptical but curious, you decide to play a prank on two of your townspeople and secretly give them the love potions instead. Filling two milk cartons with the colorless liquid, you set off to make your delivery.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
You have been granted the ability to become the CUPID.
You must select TWO people whose lives will be tied together because of potent love (Person A and Person B). If the Person A dies, Person B will lose on life (because of sadness) and vice versa.
You also win if the person who loses a life because of this ability is the last remaining Mafia, and is eliminated. (This sentence will NEVER be revealed to others. See below.)
You may not select yourself. You also need not select one guy and one girl.
PM Me your choices by February 15 8:00 CST. The people who you selected will be informed of your choice, and the current situation between them After Night 3. Your identity will remain hidden.
(You were selected randomly among the Citizens without abilities. This role is to be given only on February 14th.)
------------------------------------------------------------------
It was another beautiful Valentines Day and you are left with another undoubtfully ordinary day. What's there to hope for? After all, you have been dating various people for the past five years and still haven't found “the one”, so why should you be hopeful that you would get lucky today.
You pour yourself a bowl of cereal and reach for the milk carton across the dining table. You didn't remember taking it out of the fridge and putting it there though...
Setting those thoughts aside, you take a seat anyway and start munching on your cereal. You wanted to just let this day end. All the red and pink in the shops is starting to become an eyesore... Or was it just bitterness surfacing?
You go back to your office. Eager to get today's work done, you turn on your computer. You glance on your left and a photo catches your eye... It was an old photo on your desk. You start to wonder: why haven't you seen this before? You have never noticed the person to be so beautiful... so serene... with eyes so full of mysterious passion...
Quickly you reach for the phone.
[For person A: You dial the number. Somebody picks it up. And you just say the words:]
[For person B: But it rings. With heart pounding, you pick the phone up and immediately recognize the voice that say the sweetest words that you have ever heard in your entire life:]
"I love you."
------------------------------------------------------------------
You have been selected by the CUPID to be tied with .
If you die, ?? will lose a life (because of sadness) and vice versa.
(The cupid was selected randomly among the Citizens without abilities. This role is to be given only on February 14th. This role will take effect on Day 4.)

Wow Ralph and Singe you did amazing! I think people who play these games get too good for normal ones and take the role of scum to a whole other level. Cause I know in most forum games it's like 1 mafia for every 3 citizens, and you guys won 2 vs 7 + tons of roles! Congratulations. also major at Matt giving the decision maker to a spy

I didn't mean it was unbalanced. (haven't taken an in-depth look at the setup so i have no idea on that). Actually I think 1 Spy for every 3 Citizens is usually too spy-biased, of course roles and setup changes that a lot. I just meant that they got through a lot of roles, didn't lose anybody (and only lost one life I think!), and kicked ass.

Well, to be fair, I launched a Cit-bomb at Kip right before he was lynched. I was REALLY angry that these retards were illogically lynching him, and I vowed to get to the bottom of things and avenge him.
Thanks for the role, Matt--even though I never got to use it, it's the thought that counts. <3

well, correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't the game have went on if the decision maker had gone to, say, Masaki? 2-2 vote, tie breaker sends singe out, ralph hits masaki (not kerry to avoid being suicide bombed), citz lynch ralph to 1 life. Ralph finishes of masaki, tiebreaker goes to kerry, kerry finishes of Ralph.
I dunno how Ross would have dealt with it, but I would have had it go on until the spies had absolute majority (majority vote, or tie with tiebreaker).
I never actually congratulated the spies. Singe did an amazing job of weaseling out of that early lynch, and then slipping under the radar the next round, while Ralph did an amazing job shaking off the early suspicions I had of him by aligning with a citizen with a role. Looking back at it, I should have been more wary of how you threw suspicion back at me after I said I was still unsure on you. Amazingly done.

Thanks, Lloyd, it's tough to sound upset about an impending "mislynch" without coming across scummy. I didn't specifically target Addy as the target of my whining, but reread page 4... I tried the "indignant, totally steamed, fuck this BS game" approach and she unvoted me immediately after each of my two "explosions". Looks like DC thought I was obvscum for that weaseling though--guess I need more subtlety training haha

Also, many of you missed a near-trainwreck. Masaki nearly had both scum on the last day. Wednesday night, Ralph told Masaki he'd set a trap for me re: Kerry's role. He told Masaki he told ME about Kerry's cop/doc role. But Ralph never got to tell ME this bullshit line lol... Thursday morning, Masaki asked me what was up with Kerry and I told him Ralph gave me Kerry's real role. Masaki flipped his lid and immediately thought one of Ralph/me was surely lying. Fortunately, Ralph and I managed to appear totally antagonistic in the aftermath, and Masaki not only decided that we couldn't be scum together, but he also decided that whichever one of us was scum HAD to be partners with Addy. Making Addy the best Lynch O' The Day. <3 Ralph for Oscar-winning Performance in a Panic Situation Werdna0418: SINEG OMG DONT TALLK TO MAKSASI TODAYYY Spies4Singe: too late amigo Werdna0418: omg were both deededd wat did u say Spies4Singe: fuck if i know, i told the truth Werdna0418: omfg y u do that Werdna0418: ... Werdna0418: HODLD ON ILL HANDLE IT Clearly, Ralph is Winston Wolf.

It was eliminating Ralph<->Singe that made me come to the conclusion that Adelaide had to be partnered with whichever one was lying. I never would have thought Ralph was capable of pulling a stunt like that.

More 'mistakes' when I think of them:
The biggest mistake probably was no-lynch at Day One. I didn't foresee that happening. I thought lowering the lynch count would actually encourage people to vote and go for lynching, but it didn't primarily because everything was too inconclusive and there was too much distrust (which I should have foreseen). This placed me in a dilemma.
With my schedule assuming that there were two lives down by Night One, I had the thought of the whole game dragging along pressuring on me, so I had to decide whether to give the lynches to the Spies or just plain no-lunch.
1. No Lynch (Slight advantage to Spies) 1.1. Game is longer 1.2. Citizens (partially) don't have voting cues to find out who the Spies were. 1.3. Encourages no-lynches (slightly).
2. Give Lynches to Spies (Advantage to Spies) 2.1. Game is on schedule 2.2. Citizens get information on who the Spies were based on the hits. 2.3. Spies get to take out four lives, putting them at a 6-1 or 7-0 Day Two. (1 for the Vigilante, in this game's case 7-0 happened, which was likely to happen and I should have stopped it. Spies have significant advantage) 2.4. Penalize Citizens for something they don't know. 2.5. Discourages no-lynches.
3. Revote 3.1. Just a really bad idea because it is time-consuming 3.2. Removes no-lynch but horribly destroys schedule
As you may have noticed, the key thing that drove my line of thought was making the game so that it would not take until mid-March or April to finish it. I don't want me or the players getting tired, and I do have been warned before by Sam so I was really wary about the issue. The thing is, I fixated on that aspect and chose “Give Lynches to Spies”. I never saw how it would backfire:
A. As 2.3 said, there is a huge 7-0 advantage in favor of the Spies. The Spies having 6/27 lives, then at worst case it goes 6/21… 2/7 citizens killed. Spies need to kill five Citizens, and they are almost halfway done after the first day, that is kill-wise. Lives-wise they need to go 6 vs 12 lives, taking out 7/15 lives the need to win, putting them also almost halfway. In other words, Spies are halfway done after the first day.
B. Penalizing the Citizens for something they didn’t know disappointed some players. The driving point for covering up this decision was 2.5. I thought that discouraging no-lynches by punishing the players would help but it didn’t. Instead, it just created frustration on the part of some players, which jeopardized the life and intensity of the game.
After writing everything down, a no-lynch is choice actually gives less advantage to the Spies and does not suffer the big issue of B. Further, a no-lynch gives Citizens more control over the situation giving them more satisfaction or more reasons to blame each other (rather than the host taking it away from them).
We’re the Citizens ripped off?
Yes.

The thing is, the Spies were ripped off too.
Out of 9 players, two are Spies.
Seven Citizens. Initially, three have roles. A fourth one is going to be given mid way, making a total of four.
What I didn’t foresee this time was the possibility of all the non-role holders getting knocked out the first day (Lloyd and Hannah) bringing the plain Citizen count to one. With Zander out being the Vigilante (confirmed by story post), Kip out being the Decision Maker (slight doubt but confirmed later on when we get to majority vote kills when ties are possible) and Kerry out as the Suicider (solid role description), in Masaki and Adelaide’s eyes, they only have three suspects left:
Masaki: Adelaide, Singe, Ralph Adelaide: Masaki, Singe, Ralph If we push back, Lloyd should have been confirmed too, as he took a shot from the Spies. Given the fact that the Spies are likely to use one kill for the 0th night to hurt themselves rather than using their spare kill at the 1st night to hurt themselves (or maybe it was just in my POV). In essence, Lloyd should have been confirmed.
As early as the second day this is the plain Citizen suspects given the role-claims:
Lloyd: Masaki, Adelaide, Singe, Ralph Masaki: Lloyd, Adelaide, Singe, Ralph Adelaide: Lloyd, Masaki, Singe, Ralph
In either case, there is a >=50% chance of hitting a Spy as early as Day Two.
