This is the complete version. Please post comments / opinions here: spies5.proboards101.com/index.cgi?board=pastspies344&action=display&thread=70
Thank you David for writing this up, it is absolutely fantastic!
EPISODE ONE: Roles are revealed. The sole spy is Leo. Tyson is a "Card Reader" who must give Sam names of people he thinks are spies. If he identifies the spies - and only the spies - he will be told that he is correct. Karl is a "psychic" and can save one person from imprisonment. Tiffany is a "Gambler" and can earn prizes, from anonymous up to and including an investigation, by correctly predicting an exile or imprisonment target in advance. A fourth role is revealed, the "Ballot Stuffer", giving one player an extra vote.
Early suspicions include Tyson and Winston. Because Tyson, then a citizen, doesn't believe that Winston is a spy, he defends him strongly, linking the two in most people's minds. Citizens Adriana and Karl are also sceptical - sorry, skeptical - of Winston's guilt, but never manage to organize an effective countervote. Tanner is disliked by many because of his brand of creepy sex talk.
Some confessionals:
Karl: When I came back I IMed Derek and promised I wouldn't kill him. I also talked to Tanner a little, he's a freak.
Jenna: Minute 2 that I met Tyson, I knew he was a spy. Leo- My showmance partner. Definitely has charm, but I get a mild spy-vibe from him.
Roger: Anywho I suspect leo, however people don't But Leo is now one of my top three suspects.
Tiffany: Well, it comes down to a few things, as of right now... Two major factions are battling it out... Winston/Tyson vs. Derek/Jenna/Roger.
Jenna, the prime mover behind Winston's exile, is surprised to learn that he is a citizen but partially exonerates Tyson because of it. Tyson is "recruited" via random lottery, and Jenna inherits his "Card Reader" role as the next number picked. Not many people have suspicions of Leo. Rashma buys herself the "Ballot Stuffer" vote with ten self-votes.
EPISODE TWO: Jenna puts four citizens into her card predictions, despite her repeated documented suspicion of Leo. The early major suspect is Davoni, although many are doubtful:
Tiffany: Davoni, to me, is not a spy. More like a psychopathic citizen who has no gall in doing whatever it takes to stay in the game.
Leo stays under the radar. Tyson works on creating alliances with Davoni, Nicole, Adriana and others. Tyson swiftly becomes more trusted among the citizens, particularly Davoni, although some notably disagree:
Rodney: My suspicions for Tyson, at least, seem to be echoed with others. Perhaps we should target him for the next Exiling.
Rodney does not make his voice heard - something he is accused of repeatedly throughout the game of doing. Tanner continues to irritate many people and is imprisoned so that the spies can frame people like Roger (who Tanner clashed with) for his imprisonment. Although the spies do very little, the case against Roger gains ground.
Leo: So, we have everyone wondering "why the hell did the Spies imprison Tanner?" That is exactly what I wanted, so yeah.
Adriana is popular early on, appearing very sincere to many players. She makes a list of nine players whose heads are "in the game" but refuses to vote anybody on it. Both of the current spies are on that list. Despite this, the exile vote is between Davoni and Roger. Tyson votes Roger. Leo, against Tyson's advice, votes Davoni, simultaneously placing himself as the only spy in a group of three likely citizens (including two who will later be excluded for inactivity). Despite another spy (Gigi) making exactly the same mistake in Spies 1, only two new players, Nicole and Karl - the latter indirectly - would ever comment on this. Jenna reveals her role to Allison.
Davoni, to save herself, claims to be a counteragent. Leo, who as the "Spymaster" can investigate any citizen with a specific role, asks if Davoni is a counteragent and is told that she is not. Rashma takes a voting penalty. As a result the "ballot-stuffer" vote also goes against her, leading to her being uncovered as that role-player.
EPISODE THREE: The anti-Leo and anti-Davoni movements start in earnest this round. Tyson and Leo are asked to name the third spy to join them. They have mixed opinions, both over the third spy and the previous exile:
Tyson: At this point, if I were Gerta an' playin' this game from the citizen POV, I would know that Leo was a spy. Wouldn't have any doubt. He's basically gone and done a Gigi, splitting his vote with his fellows and putting himself in a VERY small group of cits (an' worse, mostly unsuspected cits) in the process.
Leo: I think my voting apart from Tyson was a good idea this time, especially in light of the 17-1 ish vote against Winston the round before. I stood by my convictions, which hopefully makes me look like a Cit, and now I'm just playing it by ear and seeing how it goes.
Meanwhile, Davoni's act of self-defence in the last exile has caused strong feelings throughout the burg:
Adriana: Congratulations Davoni! You tricked the best player Spies has ever seen... I fucking hate you right now... Nicole and Davoni are straight-up bitches... I want revenge. Davoni, you're messing with the wrong person.
Adriana lists her most intelligent and most suspected of the remaining players, listing Jenna as most intelligent, and placing Leo sixth and Tyson fifteenth on her list of sixteen. Jenna submits her card reader entries. Despite the fact that both she and Nicole have mentioned suspicion of Leo in the past, neither player puts him or Tyson on their spy lists this round. Jenna prevotes Nicole and then goes inactive. This inactivity will last for two rounds.
Karl, the psychic, saves Adriana from imprisonment. Adriana's alignment is immediately made public by Sam, causing the spies to protest. Karl says of Adriana:
She's not a Spy. And I think I can safely rule out Allison and Jenna. Derek is a bit too gung ho to be a Spy, that only leaves Leo...
Adriana uses her newfound cleared status to bring the role-claimers together. At this point, there are only three:
Tiffany: Well, Jenna, Karl, and Adriana can be trusted.
After some debate, Leo and Tyson choose Tiffany as the next spy. Tyson worries that Tiffany is not active enough, while Leo worries that Allison is under suspicion from the citizens. Tiffany, however, declines to be the spy, and second choice Allison is recruited instead. She is surprised to find out who her spy partners are.
Adriana creates a "I'm calling you out" thread. This creates huge rifts across the burg, but very little is said against any of the three spies. The exile is split between Nicole and Anna, but Ryan is eliminated instead, having failed to vote or post conversations. During the exile chat, Adriana says that the spies' first choice refused an offer to be a spy. The spies had no idea of this. Tyson, who accepted a similar offer, immediately assumes that Tiffany has an investigative role. He questions Adriana about her "safe" players. She mentions Karl and Jenna, but not Tiffany. This cements his suspicion and he immediately posts in the Spy HQ that Tiffany should be exiled next round.
EPISODE FOUR: The episode begins with major suspicions on Leo, and considerable suspicion on Allison too. Tyson is worried about a Leo backlash.
Antonio: This is my potential spy list: KARL LEO JENNA ALLISON
Adriana's continued attempts to force information into the open give the spies more and more ammunition while continuing to divide the burg. While her own group remain fiercely loyal, others resent her attempts:
Rodney: In my honest opinion, Adriana getting saved was the worst thing that happened in the game so far.
Adriana also thinks Davoni might have been recruited, despite the fact that Davoni was the main exile target in episode two, is under major suspicion still, and has a completely different playstyle from first choice Tiffany. Adriana, Karl and Tiffany are all wary of Allison. Tiffany, Davoni, Nicole, Antonio, Karl and Rodney are all strongly suspicious of Leo. A major anti-Leo alliance is established. Tyson cannot be online that night.
The spies attempt to imprison Tiffany, believing that she is a counteragent, but Betty is imprisoned instead for inactivity. This and the fact that Adriana was revealed publicly as a citizen causes much spy howling.
The following night, Tyson comes online, learns of the strength of the anti-Leo movement, and immediately PMs Adriana with a long piece of reasoning that ends with him telling her that Leo is his top suspect. Adriana shares this with Tiffany and her other "confirmed". The ringleaders are Tiffany (who wants to use her "gambling" power to investigate Allison), Davoni and Nicole.
Davoni: I am good. I formed a core group consisting of Nicole, Antonio, Rodney, and myself. We will get out the citizens !! WE WILL DO IT!
Tyson does his best to bring the Leo votors together. In doing so, he takes credit for much of Leo's exile. Antonio suggests in a Tyson-Antonio-Tiffany chat that he thinks Tiffany might be a counteragent. Tyson agrees:
Tyson: My own mistake - this was such a small thing with such a big impact - was letting on that I knew about Tiffany. STOOPID! Antonio had flat-out accused her of being a counteragent and I thought it would look suspicious if I DIDN'T come up with something for that. I shoulda stonewalled, denied, whateva, done anything but what I actually did.
Nicole: Tyson and I made a plan to get out Leo this week in hopes he's a spy.
Leo is exiled and proves to be a spy. Davoni hides the fact that she was the ringleader in his exile by voting Nicole instead. This will get her into trouble the next round. Neither Adriana nor Jenna vote Leo this round, Jenna still being inactive. Many people post convos with Leo to pool their information immediately after exile. Tyson posts a real convo that he and Leo had regarding who the third spy should be. In it, Leo appears to be strongly pushing for an Allison exile.
EPISODE FIVE: Tyson vows to take Allison to the end with him. Most people have bought Tyson's lies about having started the vote against Leo. Allison, however, is suspected by both groups of citizens - the Adriana/Karl/Jenna/Tiffany alliance and the Davoni/Nicole/Antonio/Rodney (Evil Mutant Pancake) one. At this point these two alliances are the major powers in the game. Tyson is accepted as being part of the first alliance, and is generally presumed to be a citizen by most members of EMP. Allison also has a foot in both camps but is not trusted by either one. Apart from Tyson, who is doing his best to give each camp the impression that the other would block an Allison exile, the only people common to both are Antonio and Tiffany - both of whom talk to Tyson more than anybody else this episode.
In one of his conversations with Tiffany, Tyson reveals a faked "role" and tells her not to tell Adriana as he doesn't trust her to not give it away. Tiffany in return tells him about her "gambler" role and the fact that she can use it to investigate Allison. The spies immediately mark Tiffany down for imprisonment.
Jenna bitches about Tyson to Antonio. Antonio promptly tells Tyson what she's saying. Tyson, looking to cause a rift between these two, complains to Jenna that he has heard she's calling him "stupid". Jenna doesn't realise that everything she's saying to Antonio is being fed back to Tyson and continues to bitch about Tyson confronting her. Tyson opens a chatroom with Nicole, Davoni, Tiffany and others, and Antonio copies Jenna's bitching to this room. Jenna becomes a laughing stock.
Davoni, who originally planned to exile Allison, now comes up with a plan to save Tiffany from imprisonment by sacrificing the two-round inactive Jenna instead. Davoni has no idea of Jenna's role. Tyson leaks the name "gambler" to her, hoping that she will use it against Tiffany. Davoni instead posts in the burg, accusing Jenna of having a role, not realising that she actually does. This causes consternation in the Adriana camp. Tiffany is imprisoned despite Davoni's efforts. Adriana, oblivious to the fact that it was she who gave Tiffany away in the first place, blames Davoni and decides that it is "necessary" to take her out despite overwhelming evidence that Davoni is a citizen. Her plan meets fierce opposition from citizens like Rashma as well as some of EMP. After the efforts of both Tyson and Allison, Davoni is convinced that her previous target is not viable, and decides to target Lindsay instead. It doesn't work.
In an extraordinarily close vote, Davoni is exiled and shown to be a citizen. This is the most "personal" exile in any of the Spies series so far, with many people who voted Davoni subsequently admitting they didn't do so because they thought she was a spy. Rashma threatens to "block" everybody who voted against Davoni. A massive argument ensues between several citizens. The subsequent rift between the citizens would last until the final round of the game.
EPISODE SIX: For the first time, Jenna puts an unconfirmed spy into her "card reader" slots by picking Leo, Allison and Rashma. (Had she chosen totally randomly, she would already have chosen on average two unconfirmed spies in the fourteen guesses that she's already made.) The spies do not get confirmation of the card reader's choice until after imprisonment. Allison is keen to imprison Rashma because of her extra vote, and Tyson reluctantly agrees. Neither spy seriously considers imprisoning Jenna. In later episodes Tyson refers to this decision as "Allison's only mistake".
Allison: That little slut! Fucking lied to me!!!
Rashma: I told you all Lindsay was a spy and you didnt listen. I paid for it. Justice in that? NONE.
Rashma has completely split herself apart from the other citizens and is imprisoned. The actual imprisonment is spoiled when Jenna stumbles across the second part of the imprisonment story before Sam has officially posted it, causing Sam some irritation. Tyson continues to defend Allison, but others are more wary of her. Adriana's main allies, Jenna and Antonio, both think that Tyson is a citizen. Adriana gives away another of her allies, although both spies know of her role already at this point:
Tyson (talking to Allison): This is actually really pathetic...
spies2Adriana: Allison's pushing for Jenna to investigate Antonio and Karl.
(01:56:47) Tyson: One point 'bout Jenna though -
(01:56:55) Tyson: She said point blank she didn't think Alli wuz a spy.
spies2tyson (6:48:42 PM): (01:57:19) Tyson: An' I have to say nothin' she (Ally) has done has changed my mind there.
(01:57:33) Tyson: How can Jenna -
(01:57:38) Tyson: Wait a sec -
(01:57:44) Tyson: WHAT?
Despite Adriana being overtly cleared by Sam, Derek still believes that she could be a spy. Adriana asks everyone for new suspicion lists. On each citizen list Tyson is either absent or in the bottom third. Allison is halfway up or higher on the majority of lists. Rodney is noticeably reticent in his conversations, less so in his confessional:
RODNEY (on Adriana): SHE IS RUINING THE GAME WITH HER BITCHY DOMINATRIX WAYS AND PLANET-SIZED EGO.
While Rodney is trusted by Derek, others find his unwillingness to speak to them annoying and suspicious. Adriana, Antonio and Jenna all begin to suspect Rodney a lot more. In a frustrating exile for the citizens - but a satisfying one for the spies - Rodney receives seven votes, including ones from allies Antonio and Nicole. Lindsay receives nine. Rodney is the only citizen to vote for Lindsay - her other votes all come from either a spy (Allison) or penalties. Derek votes Jenna. Lindsay is exiled and proven to be a citizen.
EPISODE SEVEN: This round starts with Allison still in a precarious position. Because Lindsay has been proven a citizen, Jenna's card reading of "Leo, Lindsay, Allison" no longer clears her. Tyson is inactive for most of this round.
The spies finally imprison Jenna. She puts Rodney, Allison and Leo into her cards, making this the second time that she has chosen Allison. However, she never gets confirmation that this choice is wrong. In the absence of this, she (illegally) makes a long burg post after her imprisonment that accuses Allison and Rodney of being the final two spies. Meanwhile, a large section of the burg refuses to even talk to Adriana. Those who do talk to her include her long-term allies Antonio, Karl, and Tyson.
Sam: haha lol she is so delusional. reading some of her episode 3 conversations/confessionals she is so far up her own ass it's INSANE. wish I had the strength to go through them and get a collection. it's nauseating.
Tyson at this point regards Karl as "cleared" even though there is a large section of citizens who don't. Tyson fails to make headway penetrating the Nicole-Derek-Antonio alliance. Allison fails to convince many people that she is a likely citizen and becomes a strong exile target.
Sam: Tyson has been MIA lately, hasn't caught anybody online... and is so totally out of the loop with recent information he will trust Adriana's group 24/7 (since that's where he gets most of his information from) and will miss out on all the Davoni group possibilities he could join in on
Derek is fairly convinced that Allison is a spy and correctly suspects that one of Tyson and Karl is a spy and the other was the psychic, but thinks Karl is the more likely spy. Rodney is so certain that he's about to be exiled that he removes his Spies 2 AIM name. Nicole becomes the first person since episode two to suggest serious suspicions of Tyson.
Nicole: and what's up with tyson? he's barely on anmore, when i try to talk to him, he's v. blunt. and he's not open minded at all. possible spy?
Tyson pretends to share Adriana's suspicions of Rodney and Allison, becoming convinced that the two spies cannot win by appearing to cooperate. To make sure that Allison is not exiled, he tries to orchestrate the exile so that Antonio will get exactly six votes including three accusations. Assuming nobody else is accused, Allison would get the remaining six or less and would either tie or win the vote, remaining in the game. However, at the very last minute Tyson decides to put in a fourth accusation vote - "his greatest mistake" he later acknowledges. This makes it certain that there will be no tied vote, but also makes it plain that somebody - NOT an original Antonio votor, so Rodney is automatically cleared as the mystery accuser - is shielding Allison. This causes many citizens to readjust their suspicions and become more certain of Allison, and less so of Tyson.
The votes are: Allison (by Tyson, Karl, Adriana, Derek) Antonio (by Allison, Rodney, Nicole), Rodney (by Antonio, Anna). Antonio is accused four times. With the rest of the vote split between Allison and Rodney, Tyson's accusation turns out to be completely unnecessary.
EPISODE EIGHT: Previously on "Spies: Bitchfest", Tyson gives away his partner Allison by making it clear that a spy threw an accusation vote to save her. This has major repercussions in this episode as even the relatively inactive Anna now has Allison at the top of her suspect list. Tyson doesn't believe he can survive with Allison still in the game, and starts to plan her exile. In the meantime, the spies imprison Adriana, the last "confirmed" citizen. Adriana knows that she is going, and is close to breaking down:
Adriana: The longer this game goes, the more frustrated and angry I get. The more deliberately cruel I get too - I am now showing very nearly absolutely no decency or respect towards Rodney, Nicole, or Allison. So far as I'm concerned, Rodney and Nicole are the idiotic dipshits of the game.
Citizen morale is generally low. Despite Karl, Anna, Adriana and Derek all having correctly pinpointed Allison as a spy, few have any confidence in the others. There is a massive and overweening divide in the burg.
Karl: Everyone I liked playing with is gone. The remaining 6 are tolerable at best, and fill me with homicidal rage at worst.
Tyson is rapidly losing his confidence in Allison and in himself:
Tyson: DAMN I DID IT AGAIN. THREE FUCKING TIMES... Ignored my own judgement. Went on emotion. Went on what somebody else told me... and in this case it was the host, advising me to safeguard Allison. OK, maybe you didn't mean it like I took it, but that's how it was taken. I had a perfectly good one-person plan to get me to the end. That's in tatters now. You know what, Sam? Fuck Allison. She's dead meat. She's gone from being a really good spy, IMO, to a gigantic fucking albatross around my neck.
Adriana is imprisoned. Karl is wary of Tyson for the first time in the game, but decides for now to "trust Adriana's judgement". Tyson reveals to Karl and Nicole that he was the one who accused Antonio to save Allison, and says he wants to make up for it by getting a citizen alliance together and getting Allison out. Anna and Derek both confirm that they want to vote out Allison. Allison is exiled in a unanimous vote. Ironically, Tyson has helped to harmonize the citizens for the first time since Davoni was targeted in episode two.
EPISODE NINE: Julian from Spies 1 is recruited as the "Private Investigator". His job is to try and identify the last spy by interviewing the remaining six contestants. He rules out Anna and Nicole, is wary of Tyson, doesn't think it's Derek but "can't rule him out", but places at the top of his suspect list Rodney and Karl. He marks Karl as the spy on the grounds that Karl was the psychic but hadn't been imprisoned yet.
Tyson hatches a plan with Karl and Nicole, wanting to make each of them think that the other is a citizen (on the grounds that he's going to imprison one of them the next round anyway). He decides to try and "persuade" the spy to imprison Derek rather than one of them. At this point Tyson believes that Derek is the greatest danger to him because of his suspicions of Anna and Allison. If Anna is exiled and cleared, Tyson believes that Derek will come to the conclusion that the last spy is him. Karl and Nicole still do not trust each other, especially Nicole, although both are also less trustful of Tyson than they used to be.
Derek is imprisoned in a "surprise imprisonment" that takes place a day early. Not realising that this plan is going ahead, Tyson accidentally gives away the real date of imprisonment to both Karl and Nicole. In a fit of paranoia he sends them a PM that Sam will describe as the "spyiest thing ever",reminding them of confirmed citizens who also got imprisonment dates wrong. Nicole's reaction: "I was just like, wtf?"
Anna is exiled in a unanimous vote and proves to be a citizen. Tyson doesn't push for Rodney even though he claims to suspect Rodney more than Anna. This looks suspicious to Karl.
EPISODE TEN:
With Karl, Rodney, Nicole and Tyson left, Tyson sees his only possible imprisonment option as Nicole, since he believes either of the other two would give him away instantly. Both Rodney and Nicole's top suspects are Karl at this point. Karl, unbeknownst to Tyson, suspects Tyson more than either of the other two. After her imprisonment, Nicole becomes the next player to make an "illegal" post in the burg. This highlights Karl as her main suspect, Tyson as her second, and clears Rodney.
Karl approaches Rodney with hours to go before the exile and puts his case against Tyson. Rodney switches his vote to Tyson. Tyson is exiled with two votes against one. The final spy is exiled; Rodney and Karl have won the game.
After the game Tyson votes Karl as the best player.
Thank you David for writing this up, it is absolutely fantastic!
EPISODE ONE: Roles are revealed. The sole spy is Leo. Tyson is a "Card Reader" who must give Sam names of people he thinks are spies.
