Well applications open up soon. I think I'm ready to start up again. The time off has given me some time to relax and enjoy working on things again.
For the last week I've been working on making the site pretty... which is HARD! And very very frustrating. I spend way way too much time on it but it is important... unfortunately the websites have to be pretty to get applications. But I put so much work into it and the game is only there for two months! lol. Actually originally the idea was to reuse boards as Spies went on... like Spies 4 would use the same board as Spies 1. Somehow I don't think that's going to happen. The idea was also to make lots of games at a faster pace... but that didn't happen either. I probably should put less work into each game and pump them out quicker, but it just doesn't feel right. I'd rather put my heart and soul into a 45 day game then take a long break then pump out a bunch of 30 day ones.
Yeah so lots of frustration on making the board pretty. On the concepting the gameplan part things are finally coalescing. I've had tons and tons of ideas and narrowing it down has become the hard part. Basically though it's come down to two options: With Dual Packs (two groups of Spies) or without. That's where I'm at now. Dual Packs is going to be so hard to balance... I really have no clue how to find the right number. I've looked into asking other people with experience for help... but they just don't know how Spies works and I don't trust them to keep it a secret. Plus I know more about Spies then they do. =)
Yeah so that's going to be fun. I also have a lot of cool Event ideas set up which I am going to enjoy bringing out (some of which you will see in this game, some perhaps in the next which I feel bring an interesting twist to the game. But I dont want there to be too many twists... so I'll use them sparingly as always.
Heck I still have unused roles from Spies 2 that are being saved that probably won't be used for Spies 4... so I've got plenty of ideas stacked up.
I'm hoping for tons of applications but this is the first non-summer Spies so we will see... it may not even get off the ground.
