OK, first of all my current spy list is: Faizah, Jeremiah, Gordy, Angelica, and either Masaki or Naomi (but probably Naomi). It seems to fit the spy roles I've got pretty well and right now it makes the most sense.
Now it's pretty frustrating watching the game that you were briefly a part of, and not being able to post anything. But I tell you what's more frustrating than that, and that's seeing new bullshit like this practically every time I log on:
LISE: "I am curious, why does the fact that Martha was proven to be a citizen mean that her words are 100% true? I'm sure that she's not lying to us, and she truly believes what she says, but even when you leave the game you don't know who is any more suspicious than when you were in the game. She is the one who started much drama in the first place, ja? From a "misunderstanding", or however she tried to explain it..."
GORDY: "Martha had a 50/50 chance of being a spy with all the shit she stirred in one round."
SINGE: "In my opinion, Martha was not only a more likely spy than Kiyoshi, but she was also behaving in a way incompatible with Citizenship. I think I told a few people she was playing like a twitchy drug addict... shifty-eyed with scattered opinions all over the map."
BEVERLY (as if the caps aren't telling enough): "I DID WHAT SHERRI TOLD ME USE MY VOCAL PERSONALITY TO CALL OUT ANYTTHING THAT SEEMS SUSPICIOUS TO ME SO THATS WHAT I DID WITH MARTHA WHEN SHE WAS BEING ALL WEEIRD IN THE CHAT"
Faizah: "I think Martha made alot of people vote for Martha. She came to me when she heard she was gettin' votes and basically went nuts accusing lots of different people, and wanting me to think of all kinds of crazy scenarios."
Adelaide: "She was a bad citizen that let all of us down the way she acted! I wish her the best of luck in her next game and hope she learns from this."
OK... LISE, I never even fucking spoke to you, so don't judge me on hearsay. GORDY, I spent the best part of half a fucking hour going over with you the reasons why I couldn't be a spy, you little sneak. If being rational and logical is "stirring shit" then so be it. SINGE, you never said one word about anything I did to my face. I never said anything bitchy to you or in front of you, so why the hell you're weighing in with the haters I have no freaking idea. BEVERLY, I stand by my opinion, you need psychiatric help. You rail at me for the best part of a quarter of an hour over nothing at all and then accuse me of stirring trouble? You're a delusional idiot who should be imprisoned ASAP. FAIZAH, I never accused anybody except Angelica, and you didn't like that because you're both spies together. ADELAIDE, you said earlier on that you couldn't think of one thing I'd done wrong, and now you're turning on me. Nice job bitch.
And to all of you, a great big FUCK YOU!!!
Right now the people in the burg are like a lot of spoilt five-year-old children who've had their toys taken away from them because they've misbehaved. It's "WAH, WAH, WAH, WE EXILED THE WRONG PERSON BUT IT WASN'T OUR FAULT IT WAS THAT NASTY MARTHA'S AND NOW WE'RE GOING TO LOSE ANOTHER EXILE AND WE WANNIT EVEN THOUGH WE DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHO THE SPIES ARE AND WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND WE'RE GOING TO FIGHT AND INSULT EVERYONE UNTIL WE GET OUR WAY."
Let me tell you what else this reminds me of. The "blame games" on the Spies 3 forums. Let's take two examples:
DC on Sage: "I'm scoffing at the notion that Sage's exile was undeserved". Because he suspected ALL THREE SPIES before practically anybody else and had a group of about five citizens who were completely loyal to him and would have voted with him against any of them? Bollocks.
Paul on Davoni: "Davoni's exile was a necessary evil. Period." Because DAVONI PLANNED TO SAVE TIFFANY AND EXILE ALLISON, both of which plans Adriana and her misguided groupies scotched, and obviously it would be a terrible thing to actually EXILE A FREAKING SPY if you're not the one "leading" the exile!
Here's a quote for you: If Davoni's plans hadn't been spoilt by the deluded cits in Adriana's group, including Karl, Tiffany would have confirmed Allison was a spy and the citizens would have won the entire game by exile six. With Adriana and Jenna probably still in the game and sharing the spoils of victory. Period.
In this game, the bitchiest thing I ever did was referring to a few people as "pathetic" when speaking to Leon. That's IT, and it's never even been mentioned by anybody else. As to the rest of the stuff that's so bad: I advised Lloyd to target Abrams and Ralph in machiavellian terms. That's because Martha is EVIL. It's called CHARACTER ACTING.
Here's what I DIDN'T do:
- Message someone with the phrase "I raped you" (Lloyd)
- Have a fifteen minute tirade against someone because of a comment so fucking minor I can't even remember what it is now (Beverly)
- Vote someone for exile because they didn't answer their IMs (Faizah)
- Go to war in the Burg (Candy and Lloyd - that should end well!)
In Spies 3, there was a citizen called Reicheru. And this citizen had a plan, conceived long before the game started, to make three or four spies all reveal themselves at a single exile vote by splitting the vote between a spy and a citizen. An excellent plan, except that this citizen got it wrong. She targeted the wrong person, a strong citizen called Judith, the strongest in the game by Rei's own account. Now pop quiz: who can remember what Rei did? Did she:
a) immediately start posting in the burg about how much of a bitch Judith was, refuse to take any responsibility for exiling her or admit that she might have been manipulated into doing so by the spies, or
b) take responsibility, admit she was wrong, look at where she'd gone wrong, apologise to Judith in her confessional, check if she'd herself been manipulated by the spies, and start suspecting a real spy (Tenchi) because of what she'd learned?
The answer, of course, is (b). Reicheru would NEVER have exiled a citizen and then put the blame on that citizen being a "bitch". Nor would Martha, character acting and all.
Martha wasn't responsible for Martha's exile. THE CITIZENS WHO VOTED MARTHA are responsible for Martha's exile. The evidence that Martha was a citizen was right in front of them and I explained it calmly and logically to anybody who'd listen to me. I told the citizens where they were going wrong. I told them what the best course of action was. AND THEY HAVE THE GALL TO BLAME MY "IRRATIONALITY" FOR MY OWN EXILE.
Citizens, TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY AND ADMIT YOU SCREWED UP. Then look at HOW you screwed up. There was one covert accusation of me so it's logical that at least one spy is alumni and knows who I am. <I've edited this because I referred to my real identity here. Sorry Sam.>
The citizens still don't seem to have got past the stage of pointing fingers at each other and basing their decisions purely on personality. Apart from the fact that no spy yet has been self-isolating, just about ANY personality can be a spy. Just look at some of who we've had:
TENCHI - his public persona was a romantic yet harrassed and slightly neurotic obsessive. In actual fact he was a superb planner and in all likelihood the best spy the series will ever see.
BEBE - Apparently everyone's favourite girlfriend, actually a brilliantly effective aggressive "slugger" who could get information from just about anybody.
CLAIRE - "Batshit" oddball loner, actually capable of winning the game for the spies practically single-handed at the end.
JESSICA - straight-talking, unimaginative and full of common-sense, actually one of the most versatile and flexible spies in the game so far.
ALLISON - spiky spunky girlfriend who refuses to take shit from everyone and holds grudges for a long time, actually another "slugger" spy who would just keep fighting.
TYSON - clownishly bad actor and rapper, actually ruthless strategist who would plan his strategies three or four exiles in advance.
GIGI - used a flambouyant European persona to divert people's attention away from herself.
And while the citizens are concentrating on personal conflicts, here's what they're NOT looking for - at least, not discussing in the burg. None of them seem to be looking at which players really encouraged Martha's exile. None of them have publicly discussed the idea that the spies would most likely have split votes, with three voting Martha and two voting either Kiyoshi or randomly. None are specifically looking for groups of people who have set up or tried to penetrate different alliances at the same time. None are looking for groups of people who play the game very differently as individuals, as the spies in Spies 3 did. In short, there's no evidence that any of the citizens is looking at any of the real evidence at all.
I freaking hope I'm wrong about Naomi and Jeremiah, because they seem to be the only ones in the game right now who are capable of leading the citizens in the right direction. (Jeremiah seems intent on pointing fingers at people who voted Martha. Natural enough if he's a spy - there's enough people in that group to obscure the issue of who the spies in it are.) But then, right now I'm not feeling too kindly towards a lot of the players in the game, whether citizens or spies. Because the one person nobody is blaming for the conflict, the drama, the miserable failure of the first exile and the almost certain failure of the second one, is themselves.
You guys want someone to blame - look in a fucking mirror.
Rant over. Please don't reply to it, I want it here in it's entirety for whichever citizens are imprisoned and exiled next. Because the way the cits are going now, the next exiled player sure as hell isn't going to be a spy.
