ABRAMS on the new Damon: "Alright, someone who doesn't suck!"
Hear, hear! I like the new Damon soooo much more than the old one.
So Hannah and Lloyd are doubting that Kip is a spy. I'm not sure about Hannah's reasoning, but then this isn't a game of "how" you think. It's "what" you think, and I think she's right. As for Lloyd, he makes the obvious point once again. Once again Lloyd and I are in total agreement, and once again I doubt he'll be listened to.
And just look how well the citizens have done. Rather than keeping on the path of a democratically-elected sacrifice (which means the easiest, regardless of whether there's any evidence that they're a spy or not), the citizens have decided to split up and come to their own conclusions. They've put aside suspicions of their obvious scapegoat Kip and started looking at the facts that each of them thinks matters. Coming to their own conclusions and then sharing those conclusions with only the people that they trust the most. Having successfully isolated and identified two spies, Gigi and Julian, the small alliance groups have combined, under the expert leadership of Monica, who has managed to completely conceal the threat that they would prove to the spies while still keeping the citizens bonded in a strong cohesive whole -
Oh wait, no, that's Spies 1. Sorry. Here, they've all disregarded the evidence completely and gone for the easiest target, Grace. Because she "lurks".
Y'know, I've been hard on DC in the forums and in my own confessionals. I've singled Adriana and Jenna out as the worst active citizens ever, and I've basically called "bullshit" on Gindi's claim that she and Monica orchestrated much of the last three rounds of Spies 1. But just because I don't buy Monica as grand puppet master who transformed the entire vote doesn't mean I think any less of her as a citizen.
Monica was a leader. Probably the best citizen leader in any Spies game so far. And to me that was just as vital a part of the citizens' quick victory in Spies 1 as the identification of Gigi (which Monica did long before anyone else BTW), Julian and Mercedes as the spies. The citizens needed someone to gather them, protect them, conceal their strength from the spies, and give them confidence to vote together. Monica did an excellent job of this. She, along with Soraya, used the counteragent "role" more effectively than any other role has ever been utilised in Spies. The citizens needed someone like Monica.
And now they need someone like that again, and badly. I thought Lloyd might be able to do the job, but he's still relying far too much on the burg. Assuming he's not a spy, his refrain to bring everything out into the open is doing inestimable damage to the cits' chances of catching a spy. Right now their three main choices seem to be: Kip, Grace, and Cain. I can kinda see Grace being a spy character-wise, although she doesn't seem active enough for it. But the other two choices are just bizarre. Besides which, the cits don't have any genuine reason to suspect Grace, it seems to me. If there are any genuine grounds for suspicion, it's not why she's being voted.
This isn't a game of "how" you think. It's "what" you think, and I think they're wrong. Drastically wrong.
I'm seriously hoping that someone's gone onto AIM and organised a proper counter-alliance to resist this burg crap, and that they're going to target a genuine suspect (like Faizah) en masse. It happened with Martha to a certain extent, but I think the spies had a lot to do with that. I guess we'll see. I hope that's what's happening, but I don't really believe it.
More coming soon...
